Test Lab Technician
Wat ga je doen?
If you’re technically skilled, not afraid of physical work, and want to see up close how large industrial machines are tested, then we’re looking for you to join our test lab in Venlo.
You’ll work in the test lab of an international engineering company that develops machines and technology for the mining industry. Together with the Lab Engineer, you’ll conduct tests to investigate how different materials and processes behave. You’ll work with coarse materials such as earth and minerals, as well as large machines. This makes the work varied: one moment you’ll be preparing samples, the next you’ll be setting up equipment or reviewing test results.
For each test, you’ll follow a pre-established test plan. You’ll verify in advance that all materials, tools, and information are available and prepare the test and machinery. Afterward, you’ll collect and process the measurement data and report the results to the Lab Engineer or Process Engineer. You work safely and accurately and don’t mind getting dusty or dirty from time to time while on the job.
- Preparing and analyzing samples of, among other things, soils and minerals;
- Preparing, adjusting, and checking machines, tools, and testing equipment;
- Conducting various tests according to test plans and procedures, such as grinding and slurry tests;
- Collecting, verifying, and processing test data and reporting results;
- Ensuring that the correct materials, tools, and safety information are available for a test;
- Maintaining tools and contributing ideas for improvements in safety and efficiency.
You will primarily work day shifts. There may be times when you are temporarily assigned to work in two shifts if the schedule requires it. In that case, you will receive additional compensation.
This is initially a position through the end of 2026, with the possibility of extension depending on the project.

The Venlo facility is located in an industrial park and is easily accessible via the A67 and A73 from Roermond, Venray, Horst, and Peel en Maas.
Wie ben je?
- A relevant vocational education (MBO) program in a technical field, such as mechanical engineering or automotive repair.
- If you have training in the laboratory technician field, that’s also of interest. Just keep in mind that our test lab isn’t a typical laboratory;
- You have a good command of English, and Dutch is a major advantage;
- You are able to work with Excel and create basic formulas;
- You work meticulously and are good at following established procedures;
- You are willing to start on a temporary assignment lasting at least until the end of 2026.
Wat mag je verwachten?
- A competitive starting salary between €3,815.46 and €4,639.91 gross per month based on a 40-hour workweek;
- 27 vacation days and 13 ADV days per year, which are paid out as a 4.98% bonus;
- A travel allowance of €0.19 per kilometer, up to a maximum of 75 km one way;
- A year-end bonus of at least 3% per year, regardless of results;
- A shift differential of 16.7% if you are required to work in two shifts;
- You will be employed on a temporary contract through Olympia for a fixed term;
- Pension contributions through StiPP with an employer contribution of 17.09%;
- The opportunity to obtain necessary certifications through Olympia.
